More than 110 cruise ships have called at ports in Chania, bringing a combined total of 214,895 passengers to the region, according to a report by Cretan news outlet Neakriti.

The cruise ships docked across the region’s harbors, contributing to a steady flow of visitors arriving by sea. Chania’s main cruise gateway, the port of Souda, has hosted large vessels this season, including the cruise ship Azura, which brought more than 3,000 passengers in a single call.

The cruise arrivals add to a broader rise in visitors reaching Crete this year. Separate figures from the Greek Tourism Confederation’s institute, INSETE, show international air arrivals to Crete increasing in the first seven months of 2026, with Chania among the destinations posting gains.
