Crete sees clouds and local rain Thursday, with highs near 19°C, EMY forecasts

Crete will see cloudy skies with local rain on Thursday, October 29, and temperatures reaching up to 19°C, according to forecasts from Greece’s National Meteorological Service (EMY) and the private weather service meteo.gr.
EMY describes the day’s weather nationally as relatively mild, with passing clouds and spells of sunshine, and temperatures that are low for the season, not exceeding 19°C. Winds in the Aegean Sea are expected to reach up to 6 Beaufort.
According to meteo.gr, cloud cover will affect much of the country, with local rainfall expected mainly in the northeastern and eastern mainland, Evia, the Aegean islands, and Crete. The rain is forecast to gradually ease during the day, and by the afternoon is expected to be largely confined to Crete. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere are forecast to be relatively elevated in the north and east of the country.
For Crete specifically, EMY puts the temperature range at 10 to 19°C. Other regions are forecast to see similarly mild conditions: Western Macedonia between 3 and 15°C, the rest of Macedonia and Thrace between 8 and 21°C, Thessaly between 7 and 19°C, Epirus between 5 and 18°C, Central Greece and the Peloponnese between 7 and 21°C, the Ionian islands between 10 and 19°C, the northern and eastern Aegean islands between 11 and 18°C, and the Cyclades and Dodecanese between 14 and 18°C.
Winds in the Aegean are expected to blow from northerly directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort, while in the Ionian Sea winds will come from variable directions at 2 to 4 Beaufort.
In Attica, cloudy skies are forecast with local rain expected mainly in the northern part of the region until midday. Winds there will blow from the north at 2 to 4 Beaufort in the morning, strengthening to 3 to 5 Beaufort by midday and afternoon, with temperatures in central Athens ranging from 12 to 18°C. In Thessaloniki, scattered clouds are expected, becoming denser at times, with northerly winds of 2 to 4 Beaufort and temperatures between 11 and 19°C.
The forecast follows a three-day storm with hail and strong winds that affected Crete earlier in the week, as the island’s weather has shifted between rain and milder spells in recent days. Forecasters have also flagged a new storm bringing rain and thunderstorms to Crete later in the week.
