Artist presents “Threads of Memory” exhibition at Anogeia’s “Topos tou Voskou”

Artist Eleftheria Lasthiotaki is presenting her visual art exhibition “Threads of Memory” at the mitata of “Topos tou Voskou” in Anogeia. Organizers extended the show for an additional weekend after what they described as a particularly warm response from visitors and the atmosphere created during its opening days.
The exhibition remains open to the public on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, from 11:00 to 19:00, following its initial run the previous weekend.
Lasthiotaki’s works, which include suspended threads, lace imprints and gold elements, are set in dialogue with the stone surroundings, the traditional loom and themes of memory. The installation is described as an experiential piece exploring how knowledge and tradition are passed from generation to generation through hands and materials. Visitors interested in similar experiences in Crete can find the mitata setting adds a distinct, rural backdrop to the artwork.
A video released alongside the exhibition shows the installation in place, accompanied by laouto music performed by Yiagos Chairetis. The piece joins a number of recent art shows across the island, including a Heraklion exhibition presenting photography from the Sfakian Madares.
