Celebrity Equinox cruise ship docks at Souda, carrying 2,813 tourists

The cruise ship Celebrity Equinox docked early Tuesday morning at the port of Souda in Chania, carrying 2,813 tourists, according to CretaOne.

The vessel arrived in Chania from Valletta, Malta, and is scheduled to depart in the afternoon for Katakolo, the outlet reported.

With favorable weather conditions, visitors are expected to have the chance to tour the city of Chania during the ship’s stop.

Frequent cruise arrivals at Souda

Souda port has hosted a steady stream of cruise ships in recent weeks. Just days earlier, the cruise ship Mein Schiff 5 docked in Souda with 2,643 passengers.

Large cruise arrivals have become common at the port this autumn, with three cruise ships bringing 7,000 visitors to Chania’s Souda port on a single day in late October.
