DiscoverEU opens October 2026 application round for free European travel passes for young people

DiscoverEU, an initiative under the EU’s Erasmus+ program, will open its next application round from October 1 to October 15, 2026, closing both times at 12:00 noon Brussels time, giving 18-year-olds the chance to win free travel passes to explore Europe.

Who can apply

To qualify, applicants must have been born between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008. They must also enter an identity card, passport or residence permit number on the online application form and agree to the form’s declaration.

Applicants must be citizens or residents of an EU member state, including its outermost regions, an overseas country or territory associated with the EU, or one of the third countries linked to Erasmus+: North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia and Turkey.

Next step: a quiz

Applicants who meet the criteria and submit a valid form must then take part in a quiz as part of the selection process, according to the program’s rules.
