Children Perform Aristophanes’ ‘Peace’ at Chania Municipal Library Event

The Chania Municipal Library is inviting the public to a children’s theatrical performance based on Aristophanes’ classic comedy “Peace” (“Eirini”), scheduled for Thursday, August 6, at 19:15, in the courtyard of the Children’s-Adolescent Library at the Municipal Garden.

The performance will be presented by the theatrical group of the Chania Municipal Library, using an adaptation of the play by Vasiliki Theodorou, published by Kaktos.

According to the library, the production aims to highlight themes such as peace, solidarity, cooperation and optimism through humor and theatrical expression, drawing on the enduring relevance of the ancient Greek text.

The coaching and direction of the young cast has been undertaken by playwright, director and actress Christina Verivaki.

Admission to the event is free.
