Greece named world’s best country for 2026 by Condé Nast Traveller readers

Readers of Condé Nast Traveller have named Greece the world’s best country for 2026, according to the magazine’s annual readers’ survey, which polls audiences in some of the world’s largest travel markets.
Greece scored 98.14 out of 100 points in the vote, placing it ahead of established destinations including Italy, Spain, France and Turkey, the magazine reported.
“Our love for Greece has reached its peak, and you, the readers of Condé Nast Traveller, have named it the best country in the world for 2026,” the magazine said, highlighting the country’s natural scenery for what it described as a particularly discerning travel audience.
The ranking reflects reader opinion gathered through the magazine’s survey rather than an independent assessment, and Condé Nast Traveller did not detail the full criteria used to calculate country scores.
For visitors planning a trip, Crete offers a range of experiences and places that reflect the island’s role in Greece’s broader tourism appeal.
