The reason to book it is the contrast with its surroundings. A garden, a private pool on your own terrace, and a quiet night five minutes from a resort strip that does not do quiet, at around 65 euro a night in our records, is a genuinely useful thing to find in Malia.
The reason to book carefully is the service score. At 8.7 for staff, with one guest describing a broken air conditioner and a checkout conversation that went nowhere, this is a hotel where problems may need pressing. Ask for the private pool suite, check the air conditioning on arrival rather than at bedtime, and raise anything wrong on the first morning.
