Papagianades is a small village located in the Lefki area of Greece, with a population of around 160 people. It is situated at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level and is approximately 90 km from Agios Nikolaos and 19 km from the town of Sitia. The village has a rich history, having been first recorded in an Egyptian census in 1834 with 8 Christian families. It was also recorded by Chourmouzi Byzantios in 1842 and in the 1881 census, the village had a population of 77 belonging to the Community of Handras.
One of the main attractions of Papagianades is the Ai Lias hill, which is of local interest. Additionally, the Monastirakia, a ruined Minoan settlement, is also located in the area. Visitors can also explore the church of Panagia Eleousa, which has frescoes dating back to the 14th century.
