Ano Viannos to host 3rd Olive and Olive Oil Festival on August 14-15

The Cultural Association of Ano Viannos, with support from the Municipality of Viannos, is holding the 3rd Olive and Olive Oil Festival on August 14 and 15 in Ano Viannos, on Crete.

The two-day event aims to bring local olive oil producers closer to visitors. According to the organizers, attendees will be able to taste extra virgin olive oil, sample local products and traditional recipes, enjoy live music, and meet local producers through an exhibition of regional products.

Mayor of Viannos Pavlos Baritakis said the festival has become an established tradition for the region and invited people to visit Ano Viannos to taste and learn about local olive oil and its qualities.

“Viannos, our region known for its history and culture, is equally known for its primary sector. One of its leading products is olive oil, to which the 3rd Olive and Olive Oil Festival in Ano Viannos is dedicated. This festival highlights the product while honoring the roots and traditions of our region,” Baritakis said in a statement, adding that the municipal authority actively supports olive producers and the quality oil they produce. He also thanked the organizers for this year’s festival.
