About
Psira is a small uninhabited island opposite Kavousi, famous for one of the greatest and richest Minoan settlements that have been found in Crete. What is generally unknown, however, is that in addition to the archaeological beauties, Psira has a great natural beauty with eerie cliffs, sea caves and beaches.
On the island, there are several small beaches, the largest of which is located north of the site and is sandy. Just below the ancient settlement (to the south) there is a small bay with two small beautiful pebble beaches. All beaches of Pseira are located on the south side of the island thus they are protected from ordinary north winds.
