Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

Tzatziki (Cucumber Yogurt Dip) Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1 cucumber

300g Greek yogurt

2 garlic cloves

2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar

salt and pepper

a small handful of fresh mint or dill

PREPARATION METHOD

You’ll love how easy and versatile this Greek sauce is, you can serve it with some pita chips and fresh veggies or use it over your gyros, kebabs, with fish or to dip your fries! So many possibilities!

  1. Peel the cucumber and grate with a cheese grater, using the large blades.
  2. Put in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt, toss and set aside to release its liquid.
  3. In the meantime, combine the yogurt, minced garlic clove, white wine vinegar or lemon juice and olive oil.
  4. Mix until it is combined and creamy.
  5. Squeeze the cucumber with your hands to release any remaining liquid.
  6. Discard the liquid and add the cucumber to the yogurt mixture.
  7. Stir into mixture. Add pepper and salt according to taste.
  8. Add some finely chopped dill/mint and your sauce is ready.
  9. Refrigerate for 30 minutes and up to two hours before serving or serve immediately.
