Suspected bomb found on Chania building plot, Army bomb disposal team responds

Authorities raised an alert in central Chania on Wednesday after workers excavating a building plot on Kritovoulidou Street uncovered an object believed to be a bomb.

According to information reported by Kriti360, laborers carrying out excavation work on the plot found a metal object and notified the relevant authorities.

Army bomb disposal specialists were dispatched to the site to examine the object and carry out the necessary steps for its safe handling, the report said.

Traffic disruption in the area

The discovery caused traffic disruption in the surrounding area of central Chania while the response was underway, according to the report.
