Mud and debris block roads in Krousonas after heavy rain, Cretalive reports

Heavy rain has blocked roads in Krousonas, a village in the Municipality of Malevizi, after mud and debris accumulated on several routes, Cretalive reported on Saturday.
Residents told Cretalive they could not drive out of the village because mud and other debris carried down by the rain had closed the roads, creating serious problems for local traffic.
The incident follows a series of storm-related disruptions reported across Crete in recent days. Similar damage has closed roads and covered beaches with mud in Ierapetra.
Heavy rain has also flooded streets in central Heraklion, adding to the wider disruption caused by the storm system affecting the island.
Local authorities in the area have previously urged caution as bad weather approached. The Municipality of Malevizi had earlier asked residents in several coastal areas to limit travel as storms moved through the region.
Forecasters say unsettled weather is expected to continue, with a new storm system bringing heavy rain from Wednesday.
