Magnitude 3.8 earthquake strikes north of Lasithi, Crete

An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck north of the Lasithi region in eastern Crete on Friday morning, according to the Athens Observatory.

The tremor was recorded at 6:01 a.m., with its epicenter located about 44 miles (71 km) northeast of Sitia, the observatory said.

The focal depth of the quake was measured at 25.9 kilometers, the Athens Observatory reported.

No injuries or damage were reported following the tremor.
