Five waterspouts form simultaneously off Corfu, video shows

At least five waterspouts formed at the same time off the coast of Corfu on the morning of Tuesday, September 22, according to footage shared by weather service Meteo.gr.

The waterspouts appeared while rain and stormy conditions were affecting the island, Meteo.gr said. Photographer Jon Wray captured the phenomenon on camera, with the images later shared on Meteo.gr’s Facebook page.

Waterspouts are rotating columns of air and water mist that form over open water and are typically associated with unstable atmospheric conditions, such as those accompanying rain and storms.
