Crete's weather improves Sunday as temperatures rise, meteorologist says

Weather conditions across Crete are set to improve significantly on Sunday, October 18, with rising temperatures and longer sunny spells, according to a forecast by meteorologist Klearchos Marousakis.

Marousakis said that weather phenomena are receding in most parts of the country, following a stretch of unsettled conditions that had included rain and thunderstorms overnight into Saturday. Morning and evening chill will still be noticeable, and north winds are expected to persist mainly over the Aegean Sea.

In Crete and the rest of the Aegean islands, temperatures are forecast to range between 9 and 20-22 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Winds over the Aegean will blow mainly from the southwest at 3-4 Beaufort, while the Ionian Sea will see weak, variable winds.

The forecast follows a week of shifting conditions on the island, after sunny skies with scattered afternoon cloud were recorded earlier in the period.
