Crete forecast: clear skies with local clouds Thursday, highs of 23-24°C

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) forecasts generally clear weather for Crete on Thursday, September 24, 2026, with local cloud cover and temperatures ranging from 10 to 23-24°C.

According to the forecast, Crete will see mostly clear skies with some localized clouds throughout the day. Elsewhere in Greece, EMY expects generally clear conditions with local cloudiness nationwide, though isolated showers are possible during the warmer hours, mainly over parts of the Peloponnese.

Winds and temperatures

Winds over the Aegean and Ionian seas will blow mainly from northerly to northwesterly directions, reaching 4-5 Beaufort, with gusts of up to 6 Beaufort in the southeastern Aegean. In the northern Aegean, winds are expected to weaken significantly from midday and shift to variable directions.

Temperatures across the country will vary by region: western Macedonia will see highs of 20-21°C, the rest of Macedonia and Thrace up to 25°C, Epirus 25-26°C, Thessaly and other mainland areas around 25°C, the Ionian islands up to 24°C, the northern and northeastern Aegean islands up to 23°C, and the remaining Aegean islands up to 25°C.

In Attica, EMY forecasts generally clear skies with local clouds and winds up to 2-3 Beaufort, with temperatures ranging from 12 to 24°C, running 2-3 degrees lower in the northern and eastern parts of the region. Thessaloniki is also expected to have clear skies, with winds up to 2-3 Beaufort and temperatures between 14 and 24°C.

The forecast follows a period of autumn weather that brought showers and falling temperatures to Crete earlier in the week, before conditions turned drier and warmer heading into Thursday.
