Crete forecast: temperatures reach 32°C as summer conditions continue Sunday

Crete will see sunshine with temperatures climbing as high as 32°C on Sunday, September 20, 2026, according to forecaster meteo.gr, as summer-like conditions continue across the island.

Nationally, Sunday’s forecast calls for sun and occasional clouds over most of the country, meteo.gr said. Rain is expected during the midday and afternoon hours in mountainous inland areas of Epirus, Macedonia, Thessaly, central Greece, the Peloponnese and possibly the Ionian Islands, while winds will strengthen in the Aegean. Temperatures overall are expected to stay at levels typical for the season.

Regional temperature ranges

According to the forecast, temperatures will range from 13 to 28°C in western Macedonia, from 13 to 32°C in the rest of Macedonia and in Thrace, from 13 to 31°C in Epirus, from 14 to 32°C in Thessaly, from 12 to 32°C in central mainland Greece, from 14 to 31°C in the Peloponnese, and from 13 to 32°C in Crete. The Ionian Islands will see 17 to 29°C, the northern and northeastern Aegean islands 13 to 28°C, and the rest of the Aegean islands 19 to 30°C.

The Sunday outlook follows a similarly warm Saturday forecast, when highs near 33°C were expected on the island, and comes as a broader pattern of easing rain and rising heat has been forecast for the weekend before conditions shift again next week.

Winds

Winds on Sunday will blow from the northeast at 3-4 Beaufort in the northern Aegean during the morning, and from the north and northwest at 3-4 Beaufort, locally up to 5 Beaufort, in the southern Aegean. From midday, winds are expected to shift to north-northwest in the northern Aegean as well. In the Ionian Sea, winds will blow mainly from the north and northwest at 2-3 Beaufort, locally up to 4 Beaufort, meteo.gr said.
