About
The beach of Agia Kyriaki is located 88km south of Chania, 7km west of Paleochora and 0.5km west of the peninsula Grammeno. The beach is mainly known as Koundoura because it is located in the Koundoura area. The climate in the region is very warm, favouring the development of cultivating greenhouses.
The beach of Agia Kyriaki or Koundoura is 700m long and is generally secluded. It is not generally preferred for swimming, because it is close to the greenhouses and is quite unknown. However, it is a good choice for anyone wanting to stay remote. There are no facilities on the beach, but you can find some restaurants, a camping site and a few rooms in Grammeno (on the way to Paleochora).
The beach can be accessed by car. As you drive from Paleochora to Krios (to the west), you’ll meet the peninsula of Grammenos. After half a kilometre, take the road on the left hand that heads to the sea.
