Chania Film Festival calls for volunteers ahead of 14th edition

The Chania Film Festival has issued a call for volunteers ahead of its 14th edition, which will run from October 21 to November 1, 2026, in both physical and online format. Organizers say the festival is one of the recurring events in Crete that draws on volunteer support to run smoothly.

Film selection for the edition has been completed. Organizers say around 300 short and feature films, spanning animation, documentary and fiction, will make up the main program, parallel events and tributes.

According to organizers, the festival has continued for 13 years with a focus on creative and developmental programming, and this year’s edition marks its 14th staging.

Call for volunteers

In a statement, organizers said: “The Festival invites you to sign up for the Volunteer Program and contribute to its smooth running, while experiencing a major cultural and educational event — a great cinematic celebration.” The organizers describe volunteering as a way to take part directly in one of the region’s cultural experiences in Crete.

Those interested can apply through the online form on the festival’s website, www.chaniafilmfestival.com, or via a dedicated volunteer form for CFF14, active from October 21 to November 1, 2026, at the link provided by organizers (https://acesse.one/ekrrorg). Inquiries can also be sent to volunteers@chaniafilmfestival.com.

Organizers also released a trailer for the upcoming edition, available on the festival’s YouTube channel.
