EMY forecasts hot, sunny weather for Crete on Thursday, August 6

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) forecasts generally clear and hot weather for Crete on Thursday, August 6, 2026, with temperatures expected to reach up to 33°C island-wide and locally up to 35°C in southern Crete.
According to EMY, winds over Crete will blow from northerly directions at 5 to 6 Beaufort, with temporary local gusts of up to 7 Beaufort possible.
As of Wednesday evening, the temperature in Heraklion stood at 27°C, according to CretaOne.
National forecast
EMY’s nationwide forecast for Thursday describes generally clear skies, with temporary cloud development during midday and afternoon hours over mainland areas. Local showers are expected in mountainous regions, and isolated thunderstorms are possible in the north.
Winds across the mainland will generally blow from the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort, reaching 6 in the Aegean and, temporarily and locally, up to 7 Beaufort.
EMY said temperatures will not change significantly, reaching 34 to 36°C generally and locally up to 37 to 38°C in mainland areas. In Attica, highs are expected between 25 and 36°C, while in Thessaloniki temperatures will range from 23 to 35°C.
