About Raftis Koules
Located at a height of 705m, between Ano Moulia village and the abandoned village of Raftis, Avni Pasha constructed a substantial defensive tower (koule) after 1866. This tower was built to oversee the Messara plain and safeguard Raftis, which was a Muslim village at the time.
The layout of Koules is in the shape of a T, with the longest section serving as the cantonment area, and the shorter part containing three rooms. Two of these rooms still have their roofs intact. A unique feature of this fort is its arched entrances, which is quite uncommon for a fortress.
Not far from the fort, there is a building from the same era, likely an auxiliary structure, which is currently being used as a stable.
