About Monument and Museum of German Attrocities in Viannos
Located near the village of Amiras, Meliana is home to one of the numerous monuments dedicated to the German atrocities endured by the Cretans during World War II, as well as a modest museum situated alongside it. This memorial pays tribute to one of the most brutal massacres of the German Occupation in Greece – the Viannos district holocaust.
