Chania hosts free Mikis Theodorakis tribute concert at Archaeological Museum on August 31

A free concert dedicated to Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis takes place at the Archaeological Museum of Chania on Monday, August 31, starting at 21:00.

The event, titled “Λαχτάρησε μια χώρα… Μίκης Θεοδωράκης… αλλιώς” (“A Country Longed For… Mikis Theodorakis… Differently”), presents a musical tribute to the composer’s work through songs, poetry and narration. Singer Erofili performs, accompanied on piano by Giorgos Saltaris, with narration by Aimilios Kalogerakis.

Organizers say the program is designed to take the audience through Theodorakis’s music and poetry, connecting his body of work with Greek culture and contemporary artistic expression. The Region of Crete is organizing the concert, with support from Kyttaro Chaleppas, and Make Music Memories is handling production.
