Crete forecast: temperatures reach 38°C on Wednesday, mainly in the south
Temperatures in Crete are expected to climb to 38 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, mainly in southern areas of the island, according to the daily forecast. In other parts of Crete, highs will reach 34 to 35 degrees.
Skies will generally be clear across the island. Winds will blow from the west and northwest at 4 to 5 Beaufort, locally reaching 6 Beaufort.
Continuing heatwave
The forecast follows a period of sustained high temperatures across Crete, part of a wider heatwave affecting Greece that has kept conditions warm through the end of August. Tuesday’s outlook had also pointed to persistent heat across the island, with similarly high readings expected before easing later in the week.
